im pissed at myself for losing sight of this for even a minute. these men aren’t just theoretical rapists, their victims have names and lives. they had to watch their assaulters vie for the most powerful position in the country, if not the fucking world and watch people on both sides of the aisle openly and enthusiastically support them. i can’t even begin to imagine the feelings of helplessness and frustration and anger that must accompany that.
my thoughts are with tara reade and all other sexual assault survivors
144 million people voted for a rapist, just different parties. that’s not a system that can be fixed. that’s one that needs to be burned at the foundation.
